Granny Tweed’s ideal hallucination of rock has always been one of extremes: honesty, absurdity, diversity, ferocity and volume are all found in equal and heavy doses along with a multi-genre approach. Full of confounding and delightful contradictions, this band has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. The punk racket this band produces is not for everyone; yet somehow there’s something for everyone. Slabs of angular sludge shake hands with melodic surf. Balladry and hardcore butt heads. True to the origins of the band, you will also find a healthy dose of rural grit and urban twang. If the broad palette of styles found in the SST bands of the 80’s was considered ‘punk rock’ then that’s most likely what these guys are doing right now.
